The accuracy of the mental imagery test in measuring the skill performance of the deer jump and slide movements in rhythmic gymnastics

AUTHOR(S): Hadeel Abedlelah Abedalhusen
ABSTRACT:
The importance of the research lies in knowing the accuracy of the mental imagery test to measure the skill performance of the deer jump and slide movements in rhythmic gymnastics. The research problem was manifested in answering the following question: What is the relationship between mental imagery and the level of performance of female students in rhythmic gymnastics? The research aimed to know the accuracy of the mental imagery test to measure the skill performance of the deer jump and slide movements in rhythmic gymnastics. In addition, to identify the skill performance of the deer jump and slide movements. The research sample was selected from first-year female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Misan for the academic year 2023-2024. The main experiment was implemented for the period from 4/1/2024 to 5/26/2024, and the tests were implemented using a sample tracking method. The researcher used the t-test for related samples, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and the statistical package to extract statistical treatments and data. The researcher reached the results of the study, which showed that there were significant differences between the accuracy of the mental imagery test and the skill performance of the deer jump and slide movements in rhythmic gymnastics. There was a significant correlation between the skill performance of the deer jump and slide movements in rhythmic gymnastics. The researcher recommended adopting the mental imagery test to measure skill performance in gymnastics and maintaining it continuously so that trainers can know the fluctuations in their abilities in according to the course variables. Those difficult and complex movements be taught and trained by knowing the students' mental imagery when performing the skill.
