The effect of specific exercises according to some biomechanical variables in developing the diagonal spiking skill in volleyball for players

AUTHOR(S): Aqeel Yousif Naser
ABSTRACT:
The development of the Diagonal skill is the reason the research is important spiking hit according to biomechanical variables and controlling it using training methods designed based on a correct scientific basis with the intention of enhancing the athlete's technical performance and raising it to the peak for volleyball players. The purpose of the study was to determine the impact of training methods-based exercises on developing certain biomechanical variables of the skill of the high spiking hit (diagonal) in volleyball, as well as the values of some biomechanical variables of the skill of the spiking hit in volleyball. The researcher employed the experimental method by administering pre- and post-tests to two groups: the first experimental group, which underwent exercises prepared by the researcher, and the second control group, which underwent traditional exercises administered by the coach. The research sample was purposefully chosen from among the players of Al-Musayyab Sports Club, numbering (13) players, and (3) players were excluded from the sample due to their participation in the exploratory experiments, and thus the number became (10) players so that the sample percentage is 77%, where the researcher concluded that the proposed exercises have an effect in developing the skill of the spiking hit in some biomechanical variables (shoulder angle at the time of hitting and the striking arm's angular velocity at the striking stage, instantaneous velocity of ball exit, angle of torso at moment of hitting).
