The effectiveness of peer guiding style according to generative learning model in technical achievement learning for 110 m hurdles event for the students

AUTHOR(S): Hussein Mohsin Saadoon
ABSTRACT:
Objectives: This study aims to discover the effectiveness of peer guiding style
according to Generative Learning model in technical achievement learning for
110m hurdles event for the students, then to preparing teaching unit by model
of Generative Learning by using peer guiding style to learn technical
achievement learning for 110 m hurdles event for the students. The researcher
used the experimental approach on (37) students in the second grade in college
of physical education / university of Maysan for the season (2023-2024) divided
into two groups (experimental, control). The researcher implemented model of
Generative Learning by using peer guiding style on experimental group. The
results appeared that using of peer guiding style according to Generative
Learning model contributed positively and effectively to improve the steps of
the event of 110 m hurdles for the experimental group. The results also
confirmed that there are positive effects for using of Generative Learning
model in teaching of the steps of 110 m hurdles event in addition to its role to
make the students is the focus of teaching operation through their positive participation
in the achievement which increase the confidence and encourage them to
implement the ideal achievement. Finally, the researcher recommended to use
model of Generative Learning to teach the steps of 110 m hurdles event for its
positive role in teaching the steps of the event.
Materials and Methods: The society of the research were the students in the second grade in
the College of physical education and sport sciences /Maysan university for the
season (2023/2024). The sample represented by (37) students from the society
chosen randomly after getting out the students of explore experiment, the final
number for the principle sample became (30) students divided into two groups
(experimental (15), control (15)) students as appeared in table (1).
Results: The researcher noticed that there is progress for experimental group
which used peer guiding style according to model of Generative Learning in the
results against the control group which used the normal method in the teaching,
so, the researcher confirmed that there are positive effects related to using
of peer guiding style according to model of Generative Learning. Also The
researcher confirmed that there are positive effects for using of Generative
Learning model in teaching of the steps of 110 m hurdles event.
Conclusion: The conclusions were as below:

  1. Teaching by using peer
guiding style according to model of Generative Learning contributed positively
to improve the technical achievement for the steps of teaching of 110 m hurdles
event for the students of experimental group.
  2. Using of model of
Generative Learning improved the technical achievement and the steps of
teaching 110 m hurdles event and lead to make the student focus of teaching
operation in addition to activate the students to do the ideal achievement.
  3. Experimental group which used peer guiding style according to model of
Generative Learning overtook the control group which used the usual method in
the teaching which referred that using of peer guiding style according to model
of Generative Learning has positive effects in teaching the steps of 110 m
    hurdles event.
