The impact of Cosgrove model-based instruction on female gymnasts' ability to visualize and master foundational floor exercises

ABSTRACT:
Recently, the educational process has been transformed into a scientific and organized form that is consistent with the modern and new developments in educational models, methods, strategies, and tools used to serve the educational goal. This is achieved by selecting the foundations and constants upon which planning for this process is based, relying on existing capabilities and employing them in the correct manner that suits the learners' interests and capabilities, and their ability to understand and memorize the content of the educational material, and to acquire and master athletic motor skills in a good and economical manner in terms of educational effort and time. Therefore, paying attention to scientific educational exercises in our current era has become an urgent necessity in all areas of life, as the development in the use of exercises is a priority in the educational process, and identifying the impact of these exercises using modern educational models that help retain the content of the educational material, including the EDGA model. The aim of the research was to prepare educational exercises using the EDGA model to learn and retain the skill under study and to identify the learning advantage between educational exercises using the EDGA model and the method used by the teacher in learning and retaining the skill under study. Through educational exercises that differ from traditional exercises for the teacher, the amount of learning or performance can be measured and the skill studied in artistic gymnastics developed. The researcher reached conclusions, the most important of which are: Preparing educational exercises using the EDGA model in learning and retaining the skill of the front handspring jump on the vaulting table apparatus in artistic gymnastics for students. According to the study, it is best to focus on an educational system that lets students learn based on their own interests, strengths, and weaknesses by giving them the chance to test.
