Rehabilitation of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament tears (ACL, PCL) in the knee joint using physical therapy and hydrotherapy for some injured athletes

AUTHOR(S): Zainy MH Al Murad
ABSTRACT:
The research aims to develop a rehabilitation program by integrating the benefits of the hydrotherapy and physiotherapy techniques to treat partial ACL and PCL tears to promote recovery. The importance of the research lies through the development of a rehabilitation program that includes hydrotherapy and some means of physical therapy to rehabilitate the injury of partial rupture of the anterior and lateral cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) its purpose is to rehabilitate the knee joint by strengthening the muscles working on it. The objectives of the research are to prepare a rehabilitation program using hydrotherapy and some physiotherapy methods to rehabilitate the injury of partial rupture of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) of the knee joint, as well as to know the effect of a rehabilitation program using hydrotherapy and some physiotherapy methods to rehabilitate the injury of partial rupture of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) of the knee joint. The study assumed the proposed rehabilitation approach to the effect of rehabilitating a rehabilitation program using hydrotherapy and some physiotherapy methods to rehabilitate the partial rupture of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) of the knee joint, as well as the presence of significant differences between the pre- and post-tests in some variables, physical, range of motion and circumference of the femoral muscle before and after the operation, after the rehabilitation programs and in favor of post-tests. The researcher used the experimental method to adapt the nature of the study to a sample that included a number of athletes with partial rupture of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) of the knee joint. They were 13 athletes, height (174.24, SD ± 3.62), weight (72.21, SD ± 3.01), age (23.26, SD SD ±0.80). The researcher used a set of tools and devices for the purpose of research procedures, as well as homogeneity and equivalence of the two groups. And the exploratory experiment and then the main and the rehabilitation program and tests used in the research, where the researcher concluded through the discussion of the results that the prepared rehabilitation approach including exercises has a positive impact in the rehabilitation of people with partial rupture of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) and restore the range of motion of the knee joint, the water exercises in the rehabilitation curriculum gave a positive impact on the development of (strength characteristic speed of the legs, the relative strength of the muscles of the injured leg, and the range of motion of extending and bending the knee) injured knee. In the light of the conclusions, we recommend the use of hydro rehabilitation exercises for people with partial rupture of the anterior and lateral cruciate ligament, in addition to strengthening the muscles of the knee joint during exercise to prevent partial rupture of the anterior and lateral cruciate ligament (ACL, PCL) of the knee joint and to avoid limiting the movement of this joint. We recommend conducting similar studies on other joints of the body and other injuries to the same joint, based on water exercises when developing rehabilitation programs because of their direct impact on the rehabilitation of the injury.
