Career opportunities in profession of physical education and sports

ABSTRACT:
Sports world seems to be glamorous when we look at mega events like IPL, but, given a choice, most people prefers to become doctor, engineer, scientist, IAS officer rather than becoming a physical education professional or a sports enthusiast. The career in physical education and sports is not considered to be lucrative, because of its demand of enormous hard work and negligible returns. With the blooming of wellness industry, however, survival of fittest has become the key to success in any profession. Hence, the present paper focuses on identifying and highlighting different career prospects in the field of physical education, sports and allied areas. Keeping in view the nature of the study, the literature was collected from the secondary sources including books, magazines and internet etc. The collected information was critically examined, discussed and presented for providing career prospects in the field of physical education and sports as well as fitness and wellness industry. It can be concluded that the career options in the field of physical education and sports as well as fitness and wellness industry are many and varied, depending upon the capability, qualification and area of interest to work.
