Indian sport: Problems and prospects

ABSTRACT:
Background: Sports encourage us to excel in all fields of our life, be it studies or job or social relations. Sport is a form of activity which can be participated by several classes depending on the type of sport played and its position within class and cultural communities. The physical capital acquired through involvement in activities such as sport can be converted into cultural, social, or economic capital. Perhaps the most significant aspect about sports is that they are associated with morale of the society. Indeed sportsman won medals the whole country feels victorious. Issues with Indian sports: Here are some issues faced by sportspersons like administrative issues, inappropriate representation of ex-sportspersons in administrative bodies, no sports hierarchy, lack of sports infrastructure, lack of funding and transparency, acclimatization, lack of psychological training, lack of sports quota and incentives, gender issues, media and cinema and dopes and drugs. I tried to highlight the solutions for the above mentioned issues.
